On November 30, 2023, following a request by prosecutors in Brazilian court, Braskem disclosed that it would be required to pay 1 billion reais ($203 million) to repair damages at a rock-salt mine owned by the Company in the city of Maceió.
On this news, Braskem’s American depositary receipt price fell 6.94% to close at $7.78 per ADR on November 30, 2023.
